Where oh where do I begin!! I will try and keep this as short and sweet as possible

2007 has been a great year for The Glam Doctor. I have experienced so many first and so many "new" things. What I want to leave you all with at the end of this year is to do you!! do not  let your dreams die and please do not feel like they are not attainable. When we were born God placed PURPOSE inside of all of us. Each of us has a purpose. Stop trying to do things just to do them. There are some areas where you just do not fit!! why? because that is not what you are supposed to be doing. Do YOU!!!! and find YOUR thing!! and do it.if you dont know how, send me an email and I will help lead you in the right direction. You could have never told me a few years ago that I would be doing makeup AND be successful at it. Please people do not let another year go by and you are not doing anything but working your 9-5 and are miserable there. If you are happy at your 9-5 and that is what you know you suppossed to be doing, then good for you.  

In 2007 I have made many great connections and have touched many lives and have been touched by many lives. Some of the highlights of the year have been (not in any particular order):

• mentoring up and coming makeup artist
• doing makeup for Kelis
• cutting my hair off. thanks Tone (check him out he’s in Fairlane @ Tricho Spa (313) 717-4796. He keeps me looking good.
• interviewing celebrities at the Urban Wheel Awards
• meeting Jamie Foster-Brown at the Urban Wheel Awards and she taking the time to talk to me directly and give me some wisdom
• being flown to Vegas to do a television show Best Of The Best III
• doing my first movie (no it won’t be coming out due to the production being cut short but it was fun!!! )
• working side by side with my mentors Candace Corey & Talya Ashford (it’s a compliment when your mentors send or give you work)
• doing my first Beyond The Brush Workshop (thanks Karen Hollins for your help and support on it..you were excellent and I look forward to working together again)
• being hired by L’Oreal to work their event (one of my favorite makeup companies)
• having to turn down being flown to New York to work for L’Oreal again :(
• discovering ELF cosmetics, everything is $1!!!!! www.eyeslipsface.com
• having a real staff that I can count and depend on Staff Glam-R-Us ( I love you guys-Darcell, Ty, Keli, Nakia, Jessica, Roz, Kris, Jennifer & Nakkia B)
• doing photo shoots
• going to womens shelters and making them over (makeup, hair & nails)and changing their lives

• being called upon by my peers(whom I look up to) to work with or for them
• having my staff do makeup for a weekly television program Celebrate TV-host Bishop Greg Davis TCT Network
• servicing over 20 Young Ladies going to the prom
• servicing brides every weekend from May-September
• being able to bless other people with the work that I could not do because I was too booked
• meeting Frankie Darcell and she liked my work
• doing makeup for Lexi’s DVD recording
• doing makeup for Stephanie Pride’s DVD recording
• having to turn down going to work on a major movie set for 3 weeks with a major celebrity ( I could not leave work for that long didn’t have the time) but the fact that I was asked is GREAT!!!
• being told that people really like my work and love working with me and want my personality on set with them
• touching lives all over America through the email testimonies
• working for some of the major Pastors and Churches in the Detroit Metro Area
• having my first successful client party
• finding out about Facebook
• finding favor with people who would probably have said NO but told Me Yes!!! LOL
• making new connections that I can connect others with
• always having my mentors there for me whenever I need them
• doing airbrush makeup and being comfortable doing it and liking the finished product
• having the support of you my clients, friends and family
• having repeat clientale

• being referred by current clients to new clients

ALL OF THESE THINGS HAVE MADE IT A GREAT YEAR ~!!!!!!

I just want to let you all know that 2008 (8 means New Beginnings) and I truly am looking for New Beginnings in 2008). With that being said, I just wanted to let you all know that I am NOW going to be in a salon. I was in a salon a little while ago for a short time, but at the time I wasn’t ready for the salon like I thought I was. Now that I have built up a good clientele, I can no longer drive to everyone’s home or have them come to my home for lashes & brows ( I will still be doing freelance makeup on site for you if you need). I struggled for a little while with this only because I knew that the prices would go up for you all and I was/and am not sure who will or will not stay because of the price change. However I had to become okay that the fact that I give my clients class A service and I know that you all will follow me. Let me tell you a bit about the salon. It is located in Downtown Ferndale. The salon is CLASS A!!! man oh man!! It is truly truly upscale and will be an experience for you when you enter in. When you enter you are greeted by a hostess who will take your coat and seat you in the waiting area. You will then be offered a beverage (tea, coffee, juice and flavored water in addition to whatever snacks we have in for the day. Think New York!! Hard wood floors, huge mirrors, private suites to get your hair done in for your weaves..oh and The Glam Doctor sits right in the front window. We will have monthly events for our clients. I will be doing bi-weekly group makeup lessons on Mondays (keep your eyes posted for the e-blast). This whole experience will be new and exciting for all us, Me and you my clients.

 I have a lot of personal goals set for this year for myself and my companies.
